JLL, the global commercial real estate and investment management firm, has appointed Mouhammad Takieddin as Regional Head and Chief Executive Officer for the Middle East and Africa, the company announced on 10 February 2026. Takieddin will be based in Riyadh, underscoring the growing weight of the Saudi market within the firm's regional strategy.

Takieddin joins JLL from Procter & Gamble, where he spent 25 years, most recently serving as Vice President of Global Real Estate and Facilities. That background places an occupier and corporate real estate specialist at the head of the region, a notable choice for a services firm whose clients increasingly include multinational corporations managing large property and facilities portfolios across the Middle East and Africa.

His appointment aligns with JLL's stated objective of capturing emerging-market opportunities and accelerating growth in high-demand business lines, including data centres, facilities management and technology-enabled real estate services. The firm has pointed to digital transformation and the application of artificial intelligence within real estate as central to how it intends to scale its regional offering and improve efficiency for clients.

Takieddin will work alongside James Allan, who oversees the UAE, Egypt and Africa markets, and Saud Alsulaimani, who leads the Saudi Arabia business, as JLL expands its service lines across the wider region. The structure keeps established market leadership in place while adding a regional chief executive to coordinate strategy and business development across the MEA footprint.

Basing the regional CEO in Riyadh reflects the scale of construction and real estate activity underway in Saudi Arabia, where giga-projects and a broad diversification agenda have made the Kingdom one of the most active property markets in the region. For JLL, the appointment signals an intent to align senior leadership with where regional demand is concentrated, and Takieddin's early priorities in data centres and facilities management will indicate how quickly the firm can convert that positioning into regional market share.

The Middle East and Africa has become one of the more contested regions for global real estate advisers, as sustained construction pipelines, sovereign-backed development programmes and rising demand for data-centre and logistics space create openings that firms are racing to capture. Leadership with corporate real estate depth, rather than a purely brokerage background, positions JLL to pursue the large occupier and facilities-management mandates that increasingly define the market.

The measure of the appointment will be JLL's ability to grow its specialist service lines and deepen client relationships across both mature Gulf markets and faster-developing African economies, while integrating the technology tools the firm has said will underpin its next phase of regional growth.
