The International Mining and Resources Conference, known across the sector as IMARC, runs at ICC Sydney for three days, opening on the twenty seventh of October and closing on the twenty ninth, in the year twenty twenty six. The conference is run by Beacon Events.

IMARC positions itself as the meeting point for the full mining value chain, from exploration and project development through to processing, equipment, mine services and the investors who fund them. The programme runs multiple parallel streams, with separate tracks for investment, technology and operational practice, and an exhibition floor alongside.

Sydney has hosted the conference since it moved from Melbourne, and the move placed it closer to the investment community that funds Australian resources projects. The delegate list typically mixes chief executives and chief operating officers of listed miners with the heads of state mining departments, the major contractors and the equipment manufacturers.

Critical minerals have reshaped the agenda in recent editions. Lithium, rare earths, copper and nickel now take a larger share of the programme than the traditional iron ore and coal content, and the investment streams reflect the shift in where new capital is going.

ICC Sydney sits at Darling Harbour, within walking distance of the central business district. For boards and search committees in mining and resources, the week is one of the densest concentrations of senior sector leadership in the Asia Pacific calendar, and appointments across the listed miners frequently follow it. Executive Moves covers leadership change across mining, energy and resources.
