Ger Malone

Originally from Mungret, County Limerick, Ger Malone was involved with the town's GAA club from an early age before switching to rugby after being invited to play at Bruff RFC. He progressed through Junior rugby with the club and became involved in team management and coaching.

Malone served Bruff RFC as President while becoming a member of the Munster Branch in 2004, before being appointed Chairman of the Munster Branch Rugby Committee. He was a Bruff clubman for 36 years who, having become its president, was then the club's first Munster Branch President in 2018-19. Malone maintained strong ties with Bruff, a club which developed the careers of former Ireland and Munster player John Hayes and international referee George Clancy, Munster's Elite Player Development Manager and Ger's son Peter.

Malone currently serves as Chairman of Munster Rugby, overseeing a board committed to ensuring the organisation upholds the highest standards of governance. He has led the board in commissioning an independent governance and organisational review to assess the organisation's leadership, culture, and communications structures.
