Robert Cudney

Robert Cudney is a veteran capital markets executive, mining entrepreneur, and strategic investor with over 40 years of expertise in portfolio management, capital markets, and mining exploration. He is the visionary founder of Northfield Capital Corp., founded in 1981, and is based out of Toronto, Ontario. Robert graduated from York University.

Cudney is credited as a founder and early financier of FNX Mining Company Inc., which was ultimately acquired by KGHM for approximately $3-billion, and as Co-Chairman and early financier of Gold Eagle Mines, which was acquired by GoldCorp (Newmont) for $1.5-billion. As a co-Founder and inaugural Director of FNX Mining, he worked alongside Terry MacGibbon as CEO, with FNX Mining eventually sold to KGHM Polska for $3.5 billion in 2012. Cudney was also one of the original financiers of Noront Resources and their Eagle's Nest nickel/copper discovery in the Ring of Fire, and a founder and financier of Guyana Goldfields, whose Aurora gold property was acquired by Zijin Mining in 2020 for about C$323 million.
