James Rigby

James Rigby is Chairman of SCC, the Group's technology services business, overseeing its operations in the UK, France, Spain, Romania and Vietnam. He joined SCC in 1993, beginning his career in engineering services and from 2015 to 2025 he served as chief executive officer. In 1993, James Rigby completed a Bachelor of Arts degree in Management Studies at University of Leeds.

Rigby was appointed to run the Technology Sourcing division in 1995, subsequently made General Manager, and took on responsibility for service delivery operations across Europe and played a major role in all Group acquisitions. SCC is Europe's largest independent IT service provider and Rigby Group's cornerstone business. SCC solidified its position as the largest privately owned channel player in the UK, while continuing to expand. Under his leadership, SCC has achieved consistent growth and expanded into strategic markets including niche acquisitions focused on building core capabilities across its key countries of the UK, France, Spain and Romania.

James Rigby, executive chairman of SCC, and Steven Rigby, chief executive officer of Rigby Group, were awarded honorary doctorates on Tuesday 15 July by Aston University, celebrating their outstanding contributions to technology, entrepreneurship and philanthropy. He serves as a trustee of both The Rigby Foundation and The Sir Peter Rigby Charitable Trust, supporting a wide range of community and charitable programmes across Birmingham.
