CIDEX 2026, the Construction and Interior Design Exhibition, will be held at the Dhahran International Exhibitions Center in Dhahran from the fourteenth to the seventeenth of December, opening daily from two in the afternoon until ten at night.
The exhibition is organised by Creative XP, the events arm of Dhahran Expo, which makes this one of the relatively few large Saudi trade shows run by the venue operator's own subsidiary rather than by an international organiser. It is the principal December fixture at the Dhahran site and covers construction materials, contracting services, interior design, fit out and furnishing.
Why the Eastern Province matters here
Dhahran sits in the Eastern Province, the industrial centre of Saudi Arabia and the home of Aramco, and the construction demand around it is driven by a different mix from the one that shapes Riyadh. Industrial expansion, petrochemical capacity, worker housing and the residential development that follows them generate steady procurement rather than the single large programmes that dominate the capital. An exhibition pitched at contractors and specifiers in that market is selling into a buyer base with recurring budgets.
The interior design half of the show reflects a second trend. As Saudi housing completions have risen under the national housing programme, the fit out and furnishing market has grown faster than structural construction, and it is served largely by smaller firms that do not attend the big international exhibitions. A regional show with a low cost of attendance is where that trade actually transacts.
For regional suppliers the show is also a route to the contracting groups that dominate Eastern Province work but rarely exhibit themselves. Specifiers from engineering consultancies, procurement managers from the large family owned contractors and municipal buyers all walk the floor, and the December slot places it after the main tendering season, when award decisions for the following year are closest to being made.
