Macquarie Group has appointed Chloe Neil as head of wrap platform, placing a long-serving internal executive in charge of the Australian bank and wealth manager's adviser platform business.

The appointment was announced on 1 September 2026. Neil has taken on the role and will be responsible for the strategy, growth and management of Macquarie's wrap platform business.

She is an internal appointment. Neil was most recently head of managed accounts at Macquarie for close to three years, and before that spent two years as head of wealth platform risk governance at the company.

Prior to joining Macquarie, Neil held senior positions at Westpac, including head of group executive projects and acting general manager, over a period of close to two years. She has also worked at Commonwealth Bank and Morgan Stanley.

Earlier in her career she built legal expertise across BT Financial Group, Investec Bank Australia, Shearman and Sterling, Corrs Chambers Westgarth and Coudert Brothers, a background that spans both in-house financial services roles and private practice.

Announcing her appointment publicly, Neil said she was looking forward to working with clients and partners to provide the seamless digital experiences they need to protect and grow their wealth.

"At a time when the wealth management industry and investment landscape is changing rapidly, it's critical advisers have an experienced partner they can rely on and trust," Neil said.

"With more than 40 years of support for the wealth industry and with leading solutions such as Macquarie Wrap with 165 billion dollars of funds under administration, our team is dedicated to building on our capabilities, service and solutions."

Those figures set the scale of the business Neil now oversees. Macquarie Wrap is the group's adviser platform offering, and responsibility for its strategy, growth and management sits with the head of wrap platform role Neil has taken on.

The role also connects to Neil's most recent remit. Managed accounts sat within her previous portfolio at Macquarie, and her earlier posting in wealth platform risk governance covered the controls side of the same platform business.

The appointment is one of several senior changes at Macquarie during 2026. In August the group's advisory arm, Macquarie Capital, named Melannie Pyzik as executive director and head of private capital markets for Australia and New Zealand.

Neil succeeds Michelle Weber, who stepped down from the role after a 13 year tenure at the company. Neil thanked Weber for her guidance over the five years the two worked together.

"Her contribution to the growth and transformation of the Macquarie wealth management business has been significant and has positioned us so well for the next phase of growth," Neil said. "We wish her the best of luck with her next chapter."
