Aramex, the Dubai-based global logistics and transportation provider, has appointed Faysal El Hajjami as Chief Commercial Officer, marking a significant leadership move as the company executes its Accelerate28 transformation program. El Hajjami, who joins from DHL Express where he served as Vice President Commercial for the Middle East and North Africa, will oversee Aramex's global commercial agenda and drive revenue growth across its international network.
Group CEO Amadou Diallo, who assumed office on May 1, 2026, described El Hajjami as bringing exceptional commercial expertise and a proven ability to drive profitable growth in complex international markets. The appointment underscores Aramex's focus on strengthening its commercial capabilities and deepening customer relationships. Diallo stated the company looks forward to El Hajjami's contributions as it continues to execute growth ambitions through the Accelerate28 program, a company-wide transformation initiative comprising more than 300 initiatives across nine workstreams, with full EBIT impact expected by 2028. The appointment comes shortly after Diallo's own appointment to lead the company's next chapter of growth and transformation.
El Hajjami brings more than 25 years of international express and logistics experience spanning commercial strategy, sales, pricing, product development, aviation and general management. At DHL Express, he oversaw commercial strategy across a significant revenue portfolio and contributed to the company's global commercial strategy as a member of DHL's Global Commercial Executive Committee. His career also includes roles as Vice President and Managing Director for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Vice President, General Manager for the Maghreb region covering Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Mauritania, where he established the first dedicated DHL Express hub in North Africa. He holds a master's degree from the University of Central Lancashire and serves as a visiting lecturer in international business and logistics.
Aramex operates in more than 600 cities across 70 countries with over 16,000 employees. Founded in 1982 and headquartered in Dubai, the company is a subsidiary of Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company and trades on the Dubai Financial Market. The company organizes its business into four segments: Courier, which delivers small packages globally; Freight Forwarding through air, land and ocean transport; Logistics, encompassing warehousing and supply chain management; and Other Operations including visa and publication distribution services. With operations spanning the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe and North America, Aramex has positioned itself as a key e-commerce partner in the MENA region and beyond, offering real-time tracking, automated shipment management and last-mile delivery solutions.
El Hajjami's appointment signals that Aramex is prioritizing commercial execution and pricing discipline as it navigates shifting global trade patterns. The company has undergone significant organizational restructuring, consolidating eight regional divisions into four regions to enhance agility and responsiveness. The timing of the hire suggests the company recognizes that commercial capability and strategic account management will be critical to realizing the full value of its transformation program. With El Hajjami's background leading commercial operations across geographically dispersed, complex markets, Aramex appears confident it can accelerate customer growth and margin optimization while maintaining operational momentum under its new leadership team.
