Vp plc has appointed Corinne Ripoche as an independent non-executive director, in a directorate change announced through the London Stock Exchange regulatory news service on 21 August 2026. The appointment took effect on 1 September 2026.
The specialist equipment rental group said Ripoche has over 30 years of international leadership experience in both listed and private equity backed businesses. It said she brings significant experience in driving growth and transformation across business to business services and technology enabled businesses, with expertise in digital transformation, customer experience and board, investor and regulatory engagement.
Jeremy Pilkington, executive chair of the group, said the company was delighted to welcome Ripoche, who brings deep executive experience, and that combined with her expertise in digital transformation, artificial intelligence and international business leadership she will bring valuable insight and will further strengthen the board.
Ripoche joined The Adecco Group in 1993 and held several leadership roles at the staffing and workforce solutions company over the following decades. She became global president of Pontoon Solutions, the total talent, statement of work, managed service provider and recruitment process outsourcing brand of the group, in 2017, and was appointed chief executive of Adecco Americas and Pontoon Global in 2020, a role she held from New York.
She left Adecco for Capita, which announced on 31 October 2022 that she would lead Capita Experience, one of its two core divisions, sitting on the executive committee and reporting to the group chief executive. Capita said at the time that the division employed 33,000 people, with operations in India, South Africa, Germany, Switzerland, Poland and Bulgaria, and that growing its consultative and technological propositions for clients would form a key part of her remit.
Since August 2026 she has been chief executive of ellio, the business previously known as Capita Experience, and is leading its carve-out from Capita. According to the company, ellio manages end to end customer operations in regulated markets for global and mid-market brands, with a workforce of around 7,000 across the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa and Bulgaria.
Her arrival is part of an orderly board transition. As previously announced, Mark Bottomley retired from the board and as chair of the remuneration committee with effect from 31 August 2026, having served for more than three years. Richard Smith has assumed the role of chair of the remuneration committee and, the company said, will work closely with Bottomley to ensure an orderly transfer of responsibilities.
Vp plc provides equipment, people, services and support for specialist projects, focusing on niche sectors principally in the infrastructure, construction, housebuilding and energy markets in the United Kingdom and overseas. Its businesses include Groundforce, TPA, Torrent Trackside, Brandon Hire Station, ESS, MEP Hire, UK Forks and Tech Rentals, while Vp Rail provides customers with access to the rail specialisms of the group through a central team.
Equipment rental is a capital intensive, cyclical business whose demand is tied to infrastructure and construction activity, and operators in the sector have been investing in digital systems for fleet utilisation, hire booking and customer service. That is the territory the company highlighted in describing the expertise of Ripoche, alongside international operations and transformation.
The appointment signals that the board is broadening its skills beyond the plant and infrastructure background traditional to the sector, adding an executive whose record is in international business to business services, customer experience and carve-out transformation, at the same time as it refreshes the composition of its non-executive bench.
