Tatiana Berardinelli, chief human resources officer of Graphic Packaging Holding Company

Graphic Packaging Holding Company has appointed Tatiana Berardinelli as executive vice president and chief human resources officer, the consumer packaging group announced on 3 September 2026. The appointment took effect on 8 September 2026. Berardinelli reports to president and chief executive officer Robbert Rietbroek and serves on the company's executive leadership team.

The company set out the brief in terms of culture and execution. Rietbroek said Berardinelli has led complex global transformations and knows how to attract, retain and develop talent in the packaging industry. He said she would help strengthen the company's performance culture and operational excellence through greater employee empowerment, a focus on productivity and clear execution metrics, which he described as critical to the next phase of profitable growth.

Berardinelli said the company has employees with deep expertise, a history of innovation and a commitment to customers. She said she looked forward to working with teams around the world to build on those strengths and enhance the capabilities needed to execute the company's priorities and position it for the future.

Berardinelli brings 25 years of global human resources leadership across packaging, specialty chemicals, coatings and advanced materials. She joins from Multi-Color Corporation, a global label and packaging solutions company with more than 13,000 employees, where she served as chief human resources officer and as a member of the executive leadership team. Before that she was chief human resources officer of Clariant, the publicly traded global specialty chemicals company headquartered in Switzerland, where the company said she played a key role in transformation initiatives spanning organisational design, culture, leadership, performance and employee engagement.

Earlier in her career Berardinelli held senior global human resources leadership roles at PPG Industries, Eastman Chemical Company, Dow Chemical Company, and Rohm and Haas. Her experience spans North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia Pacific. She holds a master of science in business administration from Jonkoping International Business School in Sweden and a bachelor's degree in business administration, with a minor in international finance, from Universidad del Norte in Colombia.

Graphic Packaging Holding Company, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker GPK, is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia. It designs and produces consumer packaging made primarily from renewable or recycled materials, and operates a global network of design and manufacturing facilities serving brands in food, beverage, foodservice, household and other consumer products. The company describes itself as committed to reducing the environmental footprint of consumer packaging.

The wider paperboard and consumer packaging sector has been working through a period of cost pressure, capacity rationalisation and substitution away from plastic, which has put weight on productivity programmes and on the operating discipline required to run large multi site manufacturing networks. Human resources leadership in that setting is closely tied to industrial operations, since plant staffing, safety, skills and retention determine whether efficiency targets are met. The record of Berardinelli in packaging, chemicals and coatings places her inside that industrial context rather than in a purely corporate one.

The appointment signals that the company is treating people strategy as an instrument of operational performance rather than a support function. The framing used by Rietbroek links the role directly to productivity, empowerment and execution metrics, which puts the chief human resources officer alongside operations and finance in delivering the growth plan. Recruiting from a direct peer in labels and packaging, and before that from specialty chemicals, also indicates a preference for a leader who has run transformation programmes in comparable manufacturing environments and across multiple regions.
