The 25th WPC Energy Congress, the flagship gathering of the global oil, gas and energy industry, will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 11 to 15 October 2026 at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Center. Convened under the theme Pathways to an Energy Future for All, the Congress is expected to draw more than 25,000 participants, including government ministers and chief executives from across the energy value chain.

Known historically as the World Petroleum Congress and held every three years, the event is often described as the Olympics of the energy industry. Its 25th edition marks the first time Saudi Arabia has hosted the Congress, underlining the Kingdom's central role in global energy markets and its ambitions under Vision 2030 to shape the conversation on the future of energy.

The programme spans the full breadth of the sector, from upstream exploration and production through refining and petrochemicals to the technologies of the energy transition, including hydrogen, carbon capture and management, and the investment needed to deliver reliable and lower-carbon energy at scale. Alongside the ministerial and chief-executive plenaries, a large exhibition brings together national and international oil companies, service providers and technology firms.

For the region, the Congress is a significant moment. It places Riyadh at the centre of the global energy calendar for a week and gives Saudi Arabia a platform to present its plans across conventional hydrocarbons and new energy alike. For executives tracking leadership and strategy across the sector, it is one of the most important dates of the year.
