Billy Hann

Billy Hann is Chief Executive Officer of Dublin Bus, Ireland's largest public transport provider where he leads over 4,200 people in delivering bus services to over 480,000 customers daily across the Greater Dublin Area. He joined Dublin Bus in December 2022, introducing a new corporate strategy, establishing a new Executive Team, and overseeing one of the largest recruitment drives in company history, hiring over 1,000 drivers.

Hann trained as an engineer and holds an MSc in Operations Management from Dublin City University (2000). He has also completed an MSc in Executive Leadership from Ulster University (2010-2012) and attended Harvard Business School (2019-2021).

Hann devoted almost 29 years to the Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), Ireland's air traffic control organisation, beginning in the mid-1990s providing engineering support for the Dublin Air Traffic Control Centre. He advanced through several management roles, culminating as Director of Air Traffic Management, Operations and Strategy.

Since joining Dublin Bus in December 2022, Hann has emphasized service excellence and customer-centred approaches, noting similarities between managing large service organisations in aviation and public transport sectors.
