Megan Hooper

Overview

Megan Hooper was appointed Head of the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Group at McCann FitzGerald LLP, effective 1 September 2026. She is an experienced commercial litigation solicitor advising companies and financial institutions on corporate disputes, internal investigations, regulatory and statutory investigations and inquiries.

Megan is ranked as a Leading Individual for White Collar Crime by The Legal 500, and since February 2009, she has been the lead adviser to two financial institutions in relation to regulatory and criminal investigations arising from legacy issues. She is knowledgeable about the procedures of the Garda National Economic Crime Bureau, the Director of Public Prosecutions and regulatory bodies such as the Chartered Accountants Regulatory Board, the Central Bank of Ireland and the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement.

Megan holds a Bachelor of Laws, Bachelor of Business, and Bachelor of Arts from St Peter's College, Brisbane, and was admitted to practice in Queensland in 2002 and Ireland in 2005. She joined McCann FitzGerald in 2002 having relocated from Australia, and was appointed Partner in 2014.

Megan succeeds Michael Murphy, who led the group since 2020 and continues as a Partner at the firm. She also serves as one of three partners leading the firm's diversity, equity and inclusion efforts.
