Nasser Al Sharji

Nasser Al Sharji has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Oman Air, effective September 1, 2026. He brings more than 25 years of experience in executive management, aviation, logistics and government services, with a career that has included leadership roles at several major Omani organisations. Al Sharji will succeed former CEO Con Korfiatis, who has served as Oman Air's CEO since May 2024.

His previous positions include senior roles at ASYAD Group, OQ and Nama Water Services, where he was involved in major national projects and organisational transformation programmes. At Transom, Al Sharji was responsible for a business at the heart of airport operations, giving him direct exposure to the operational side of the aviation industry and the wider ecosystem that supports airlines and airports. He holds an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA) and has specialised professional qualifications in supply chain management and procurement.

Al Sharji holds an Executive MBA and has also served as a board member and chairman of committees across several sectors. Commenting on the appointment, Saeed Al Mawali, Chairman of Oman Air and Oman's Minister of Transformation, Communications and Information Technology, said, "Nasser brings extensive leadership experience, a strong understanding of the aviation sector and a proven track record of leading organisations through transformation and change." Al Sharji's background across aviation, logistics and large-scale Omani organisations is expected to bring experience relevant to Oman Air as it continues to focus on efficiency, financial performance and the development of its role as the Sultanate's national carrier.
