Canon U.S.A., Inc. has named Dominic Janney Chief Executive Officer of Canon Financial Services, Inc., the company announced on July 20, 2026. Janney, who has led the financing subsidiary as President since January 2022, will now hold the dual title of President and Chief Executive Officer.

The appointment consolidates leadership of the unit under an executive who has already directed its operations for more than three years. Canon Financial Services operates as the captive finance company for Canon U.S.A., providing leasing and financing programs that help commercial customers, dealers and channel partners acquire Canon imaging, office and production printing technology. By pairing equipment offerings with tailored financing, the subsidiary plays a central role in how Canon products reach business buyers across the United States.

Elevating Janney from President to a combined President and CEO role reflects a pattern common among captive finance units, where continuity and close alignment with the parent company's commercial strategy carry particular weight. Since taking the President's chair at the start of 2022, he has overseen the subsidiary's portfolio, its dealer relationships and the credit decisions that underpin its lending. The expanded mandate now gives him formal authority over both the day to day management and the longer term strategic direction of the business.

For Canon U.S.A., the decision signals a preference for internal continuity at a moment when equipment finance providers face a shifting interest rate environment and evolving demand for office and production technology. Captive finance arms allow manufacturers to support sales, retain customer relationships through the life of a lease and capture value from financing that would otherwise flow to third party lenders. Placing a single leader over both the presidency and the chief executive role can streamline decision making and sharpen accountability for those objectives.

Canon U.S.A., headquartered in Melville, New York, is the United States sales and marketing arm of imaging technology company Canon Inc. Its financing subsidiary serves a broad base of businesses that rely on Canon hardware, from small offices to large production print operations. Janney's dual appointment adds the chief executive title to the presidency he has held since 2022 and does not involve a change in the subsidiary's ownership or its status as a wholly owned part of Canon U.S.A.

The company did not announce any other leadership changes alongside the appointment. Janney continues in the role he has held since 2022 while taking on the added responsibilities of chief executive.
