Usher brings more than 25 years of experience leading and scaling technology businesses across Australia and New Zealand, with particular expertise in SaaS, cloud, cybersecurity, and digital public services. According to available professional profiles, he spent 16 years in technology product management at Microsoft's global headquarters in the United States, where his roles spanned software and hardware products including Windows and Xbox, as well as telecommunications and media sector development. He subsequently held eight years of managing director and chief executive roles at Datacom Group, where he led software-as-a-service, cloud, enterprise software, and data centre businesses spanning both ANZ markets. He is described as having developed international third party technology product ecosystems and partnerships, and brings board-level experience.
