Global AI Summit 2026 Riyadh

The fourth edition of the Global AI Summit, known as GAIN, has been rescheduled. The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, which convenes the summit, announced that the event will now take place in Riyadh from 7 to 9 September 2027. It had been scheduled for 15 to 17 September 2026 at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center, and executives who had planned around the September 2026 dates should update their calendars.

According to the authority's announcement, reported by Arab News, the decision followed a shared request from the summit's international partners for further consultation on the programme in light of rapid developments in artificial intelligence. The authority said the revised schedule would also allow broader participation by technology leaders, policymakers, international organisations and academic and research institutions.

GAIN has established itself as the Gulf's largest government convened artificial intelligence gathering. Its previous editions in Riyadh brought together ministers, chief executives of global technology companies, researchers and investors, and were used to announce partnerships, investments and national programmes under Saudi Arabia's data and artificial intelligence strategy.

For executives, the postponement removes one of the autumn's anchor technology events from the 2026 Gulf calendar and shifts it to September 2027. Boards and leadership teams in technology, telecoms, cloud and the sectors adopting artificial intelligence at scale in the Kingdom should treat the 2027 dates as the planning reference. In the meantime, the region's artificial intelligence conversation continues through other gatherings, including the AI Everything event in Abu Dhabi in October, which Executive Moves lists separately.
