Jenny Ahlstrom

Jenny Ahlstrom grew up in the Bay Area, working for Hewlett Packard and then IBM as a mid-range Systems Engineer and Marketing Rep for healthcare software. She has been involved with tech startups over the last 30 years, supporting her husband Paul who is an entrepreneur, venture capitalist and private equity investor. She holds a degree in Business/Corporate Communications from Brigham Young University.

Ahlstrom was diagnosed with multiple myeloma in 2010 at age 43 while living in Mexico with her husband Paul and their six children. After experiencing her brother-in-law's death from acute myeloid leukemia in 2005, she recognized major gaps in patient resources and cancer care coordination. In 2012, Jenny and Paul launched HealthTree Foundation to help patients navigate treatment decisions, access clinical trials, and contribute their medical data to research. In 2025, she was named to Inc.'s Female Founders 500 list and recognized as a 2025 Remarkable Women Honoree by ABC4 Utah for her groundbreaking work in healthcare innovation and cancer research.

The HealthTree platform allows patients to track their disease, connect with specialists, and share anonymized health information with researchers to accelerate treatment development. HealthTree has facilitated rapid patient surveys, connected thousands of patients with clinical trials, and provided educational resources through podcasts, webinars, and community support. Under her leadership, the foundation has revolutionized patient support and cancer research through comprehensive education through podcasts, webinars, and its dedicated university platform, community support connecting patients and caregivers, and research acceleration initiatives.
