Richard Hall

Richard Hall was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Dana Gas in November 2023, succeeding Patrick Allman-Ward. He graduated from Leeds University with a BSc in Chemical Engineering and brings decades of experience across exploration and production, operations management, and major project delivery in challenging international markets.

Dana Gas is the largest non-government owned natural gas company in the Middle East, with operations in Egypt, the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, and the UAE. Under Hall's leadership, the company focuses on sustainable energy initiatives and value creation across its regional gas assets.

Career History

• Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director in Malaysia at EnQuest (2020-2023) – During his tenure, he played a critical role in taking the Kraken project from concept to development, delivering 140 million barrels on time and 25% below its $3.2 billion budget
• CEO and Co-Founder of Nio Petroleum (2009-2013), which was acquired by EnQuest
• Vice President of Operations and Developments and General Manager in Malaysia at Petrofac
• Founder and Operations Director of Acteon Group (formerly UWG Ltd), which won the Institute of Petroleum Platinum award in 2001 for its new technology; he formed and led a team which won the prestigious Queen's Award for Export
• Early career roles with Amoco, Murphy, and Hess in various offshore and onshore drilling and production supervisory positions over 10 years
