Osman Sultan

Osman Sultan was appointed as a board member of Searchie, a Dubai-based artificial intelligence video recruitment platform. Sultan, who was CEO of UAE-based telecommunications company du, stepped down in early 2020 to pursue board and advisory roles with technology-focused companies. He helped launch du in 2006 and has since expanded his focus to emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and entrepreneurship in the MENA region.

Sultan holds a degree in engineering and has accumulated over 30 years of international telecommunications experience. He joined France Telecom in 1983 and worked in management positions focused on sales, marketing, and customer services for 11 years. In 1997, he joined France Telecom Mobiles International as Vice President for Business Development covering the Middle East and Arab World. The same year, he assembled the MobiNil consortium bid for a GSM license in Egypt, which successfully acquired 68% of the Egyptian Company for Mobile Services.
