Jon Bingham

Jonathan Bingham was appointed Interim Group Chief Financial Officer of HSBC Holdings plc effective September 2, 2024. He retains his existing responsibilities as Global Financial Controller whilst holding the role of Interim Group CFO, providing stewardship of HSBC external financial, regulatory, ESG and Tax reporting.

Bingham is a qualified accountant and member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a BSc Degree in Economics from the University of York. He also holds an Executive MBA from University of Edinburgh and ENPC Paris. Bingham was recognized for an outstanding contribution to the accounting and finance industry at the 2017 British Accountancy Awards. He co-created an IFRS 9 guidance paper for banking audit committees.

Prior to joining HSBC in 2020, Bingham worked for KPMG LLP for 20 years, of which the final 10 years were as a Banking Partner, in which he led KPMG's relationships with its large international banking clients. He Chairs the UK Finance Prudential, Reporting and Taxation Policy Committee and is a member of the Financial Services Faculty Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
