Jesus Lamas Rios

Jesus Lamas is the President of Well Construction Division at Schlumberger Technology Corporation, based in Texas, United States. He began his career with Schlumberger in 1998 as a field engineer in Algeria, marking the start of a career that has spanned more than two decades in the oil and gas sector. He holds a bachelor's degree of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Simon Bolivar University, Miranda State, Venezuela, and a master's degree of Science in Oil and Gas Industry Management from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

Over the course of his 23-year career with Schlumberger, Lamas held various executive management positions including President of Rig Performance Technologies, President of Schlumberger Mexico and Central America, Vice President Land Rigs for the Western Hemisphere, Vice President Drilling and Measurements for Latin America, and Director of Schlumberger Human Resources for Latin America. Earlier in his Schlumberger career, Lamas held several engineering and management positions in operations, technology and business development in North America, Latin America, and Asia.
