Ibrahim Sagna

Ibrahim Sagna, born in 1975, is an institutional platform builder with over 25 years of experience in global finance. The Senegalese-born executive currently serves as executive chairman at Silverbacks Holdings, a Mauritius-based private investments firm, since November 2022. He serves as an advisory board member for Beacon Media, a global media and entertainment company co-founded by world-renowned author and alternative medicine advocate Dr. Deepak Chopra.

Sagna graduated with a Bachelor of Science in finance, general management, and information systems from Boston College (1992-1996) and earned a Master of Science in finance from Carroll School of Management (1998-1999). He holds certificates in General Management from Harvard Business School, a master class certificate in Private Equity from London Business School earned in 2008, and a certificate in Leadership Transition courses from INSEAD since 2021. While at Boston College, Sagna co-founded PATU (Presenting Africa To U), the African student association.

Sagna has been involved in more than $30 billion in company-related financings across over 40 African and emerging markets, spanning sectors such as consumer services, infrastructure and natural resources. He is the Vice-Chairman and a Founding Partner of the Cape Town Tigers, a South African basketball franchise that participates in the NBA's Basketball Africa League (BAL). In 2023, Ibrahim was named one of the Top 100 Most Influential Leaders in Africa by New African Magazine.
