Elliott Portnoy

Elliott Portnoy is the Global Chief Executive Officer Emeritus of Dentons, the largest global law firm in the world with a presence in more than 80 countries. As the founding Global CEO of Dentons, he led the world's largest global law firm spanning 80 countries, 200 offices, and 20,000+ lawyers and professionals. Portnoy has been Dentons' global CEO since the firm assumed its current name following the $1bn tripartite merger of legacy SNR Denton, of which Portnoy was global CEO, with French firm Salans and Canada's Fraser Milner Casgrain in 2013.

During his tenure, he helped lead nearly 60 law and professional services firm strategic growth and M&A transactions, including pioneering entry into the Indian legal market, securing Level 1 Black Economic Empowerment status in South Africa, leading the first combination between a global law firm and a Chinese law firm and expansion efforts across dozens of business markets in both advanced economies and developing markets. He served as the youngest chairman of Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal after founding and leading its public law group.

Elliott currently serves as an Operating Partner on the Private Equity Investment Team, and is one of the legal profession's leading voices on the convergence of law, technology, and private capital. His work spans focus on professional services firms, law firms, managed services organizations, legal tech platforms, and AI-driven legal services businesses.
