Edward Winter

Edward Winter was appointed Chief Investment Officer for Real Assets at Abu Dhabi Investment Council (ADIC) in July 2026, effective September 2026. At ADIC, Winter oversees the $160 billion sovereign wealth fund's investments across global infrastructure and real estate, reporting to Executive Director Saoud Al Mulla.

Winter has more than 20 years of experience working across the infrastructure sector. Most recently, he oversaw mid-market funds across Europe, the Middle East and Africa at BlackRock unit Global Infrastructure Partners, while also leading BlackRock's Middle East Infrastructure Fund. Based in London, he was responsible for origination, structuring, execution, monitoring, and exit strategy for investments across sectors in Europe and the Middle East, leading or having led investments in ADNOC Oil Pipelines, AirFirst, Aramco Gas Pipelines, Calisen, Kellas Midstream, Jafurah Midstream Gas Company, Medgaz, Saudi Bahrain Pipeline and Tata Renewable Energy.

Winter brings to ADIC a rare combination of deep sector expertise and platform-building experience. His tenure at Macquarie and particularly his eight-year tenure leading infrastructure investment teams at BlackRock across EMEA and the Middle East positions him well to scale ADIC's real assets portfolio, which spans more than 200 investments across developed and emerging markets. Winter's track record originating and executing complex transactions across energy infrastructure, digital assets, and transport sectors should enable him to drive the fund's expansion into new geographies and asset classes while maintaining disciplined capital deployment across fund investments, co-investments, and separately managed accounts.
