Dr. Sunho Kang

Dr. Sunho Kang joined TeraWatt Technology Inc. as Head of Product and Technology in June 2026. He is a globally recognized battery-technology executive with more than 25 years of leadership experience spanning the United States, Asia, and Europe, and a distinguished track record of advancing innovations from laboratory research through gigafactory-scale production. His education includes a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from Seoul National University.

Dr. Kang brings deep expertise in lithium-ion battery materials, cell engineering, and product industrialization across electric vehicles and energy storage systems. He developed and industrialized critical Li-ion battery materials, including advanced NCM cathode materials, Silicon-Carbon nanocomposites, and nanoporous Silicon, which have been widely adopted in Li-ion cells for EV and power tool applications. He is one of the key inventors of Argonne National Laboratory's Li-rich NCM, which were licensed to major chemical and cell companies and OEMs. Dr. Kang has published more than 80 papers in scientific journals and holds over 30 U.S. patents in battery materials.

As a former protégé of Nobel Laureate Dr. John B. Goodenough, Dr. Kang has been recognized as a thought leader in battery innovation. His expertise spans lithium-ion cell engineering, silicon-anode development, cathode innovation, dry-electrode manufacturing, and root-cause failure analysis.
