David Lawler

David C. Lawler is Chief Executive Officer of Caturus, an integrated Gas and LNG company. With over 34 years in the energy sector, Lawler previously served as the Chief Executive Officer of Kimmeridge Texas Gas and Director of Commonwealth LNG beginning in 2024. Prior to joining Kimmeridge Texas Gas, Lawler served as Chairman and President of BP America from 2020 to 2023.

As the chief representative in the United States, Lawler led the collective efforts of bp's businesses, representing 30,000 employees and capital deployed of $150+ billion since 2005. Formerly BP America's CEO and head of BPX Energy, he oversaw transformative acquisitions, including leading a $10.5 billion acquisition of BHP's onshore assets, BP's largest acquisition in more than 20 years. This role included the formation and implementation of the integrated US strategy to achieve net zero by 2050 in collaboration with the US Leadership Team, along with the oversight of the resilient hydrocarbons, convenience and mobility, and low carbon energy business units.

A Denver native, Lawler graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering in 1990 before earning an MBA from Tulane University in 2003. He is also a Trustee of the Colorado School of Mines, appointed by Colorado Governor Jared Polis in 2022.
