Brian McEnery

Brian McEnery is Managing Partner of BDO Ireland, a position he has held since March 2023. A Limerick native, McEnery joined BDO in Ireland in 1995 and qualified as an ACCA while working in Corporate Finance at the BDO Limerick office. Since rejoining as a Partner in 2012, he has been instrumental in developing healthcare consulting, corporate restructuring, NPL management and turnaround practices.

McEnery qualified as an ACCA Fellow and holds a master's in professional accountancy from the University of London. He also holds a certificate in Business Sustainability Management from Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership. Beyond his professional qualifications, McEnery has represented ACCA on the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC), and on Accountancy Europe.

Throughout his career, McEnery has held prominent industry leadership positions. He served as Worldwide President of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chair of HIQA, and Board Member & Chair of the Audit Committee of NAMA. In the late 1990s, McEnery carried out a strategic review for the Irish Nursing Homes Organisation, establishing a career-long speciality advising in the healthcare sector. McEnery cut his teeth in corporate recovery under Con Quigley with BDO in the Limerick office's role in the 1996 debt overhaul of property developer McInerney Holdings.
