Badr Al Olama

Badr Al Olama is the Director General at Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development arm responsible for driving economic diversification and sustainable growth. He became Chairman of SHUAA Capital in April 2024, following his appointment as Vice-Chairman in June 2022. He has been a board member of SHUAA Capital since April 2021.

Badr holds a degree in Sharia and Law from UAE University (2002) and an LL.M from Harvard Law School (2005). He was nominated as 'Young Global Leader for the Middle East and North Africa Region' by the World Economic Forum in 2016.

As a former Mubadala executive, Badr managed a diverse portfolio of investments ranging from aerospace and defence to healthcare services and satellite technologies. He transformed Strata into a global aerospace supplier, and as Chairman of Emirates Post Group he led a major digital transformation, modernised operations, and initiated partnerships to extend logistics capabilities beyond national borders. He has also been leading the organising committee for the Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS) since its inception.
