Alan McIntosh

A Scottish financier and serial entrepreneur, Alan McIntosh co-founded Cairn Homes plc in early 2014 with CEO Michael Stanley. McIntosh stepped down from Cairn's board in January 2024 after nine years, during which the company grew from four employees to over 4,000 people across 20 active sites. The company emerged from McIntosh's recognition of significant housing demand in Ireland following the 2008 economic crisis.

McIntosh was previously known for co-founding Punch Taverns in 1997 and serving as the company's chief financial officer when it conducted its IPO in London in 2002. Through his family office Emerald Investment Partners—founded in 2012—he has made significant investments across hospitality and outsourcing sectors, including acquiring £140 million of Interserve debt in 2018.
