The UK Atomic Energy Authority is the national organisation for fusion energy research in the United Kingdom and a government body. It employs more than 2,600 people across four sites and comprises a national laboratory alongside the subsidiary UK Fusion Energy.
On 12 August 2026 it announced the appointment of Dennis Whyte as chief executive officer of the group, following an open international recruitment process.
