Ebdaa Bahrain Microfinance

Ebdaa Microfinance Bank Bahrain is one of the Banks for the Poor created by the Arab Gulf Program for Development (AGFUND) based on the vision of HRH Prince Talal Bin Abdelaziz of Saudi Arabia with the aim of helping poor and limited income people to become part of the economic cycle. The legal status of Ebdaa changed from a bank to a company in mid-2021 in implementation of the new regulatory instructions of the Central Bank of Bahrain.

Ebdaa Bahrain focuses on implementing part of the Economic Vision of Bahrain 2030 by providing credit opportunities, insurance services, and capacity building services to the poor and limited income Bahrainis to help them improve their living standards and increase their overall families' income. Ebdaa offers financing in both Islamic and conventional formats. The company is headquartered in Manama with $9.5 million in revenue and 52 employees.

Ebdaa received the "Best Women Empowerment in the GCC" award from the Government of Dubai in May 2017 in recognition of its role in supporting and economically empowering Bahraini women, and was also honored as the Best Microfinance Bank by the Union of Arab Banks in 2023. Ebdaa Bahrain Microfinance Company has entered into a collaborative agreement with MFSYS Technologies Limited to fully digitize all banking services offered by the company.

Khaled Walid Al-Gazawi serves as the CEO of Ebdaa Microfinance Bank in Bahrain, bringing over 19 years of experience in microfinance and more than eight years of experience in the financial and banking sector.
