The Church of England is the established Christian church in England and the mother church of the Anglican Communion, organised into dioceses, cathedrals and parishes across the country. Its national work is supported by a group of institutions including the Church Commissioners and the Archbishops' Council. A significant share of its annual running costs is met from investment income generated by the Church Commissioners' endowment.
