A.P. Moller-Maersk is a Danish shipping and logistics company founded in 1904 by Arnold Peter Møller and his father Peter Mærsk Møller. The company is based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with subsidiaries and offices across 130 countries and over 100,000 employees worldwide in 2024. Maersk's business activities include port operation, supply chain management, warehousing and air freight. The company's 2025 annual revenue was US$53.9 billion. It is a publicly traded family business, as the company is controlled by the namesake Møller family through holding companies.

In January 2024, it was announced that Hapag-Lloyd, together with Maersk, would launch a long-term operational cooperation under the name Gemini Cooperation in February 2025, with the new cooperation expected to comprise around 340 ships with a combined capacity of 3.7 million standard containers (TEU); of these, Maersk is to provide 60% and Hapag-Lloyd 40%. Maersk provides end-to-end logistics solutions, encompassing ocean freight, port terminals, inland transportation, and supply chain management through subsidiaries like APM Terminals and Maersk Line.

Robert Erni assumes the role of Executive Board Member and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) effective 5 February 2026. Robert Erni, a Swiss national, brings more than 30 years of experience in finance functions across the global logistics sector, and spent 20 years at Kuehne+Nagel, where he held several executive finance positions and was stationed in Hong Kong, India, Argentina, the United States and Switzerland. Maersk announced the appointment of Ditlev Blicher as the new Regional President for North America, effective Jan. 1, 2026, after most recently serving as the company's Regional President for Asia Pacific since 2023.
