Alexandre Lotfi

Alexandre Lotfi is Global Chief Risk Officer at Bank of Singapore Ltd, where he held the position from November 2016 until his departure in March 2024. With more than 23 years of experience in risk management, Lotfi joined from the Bank of Singapore, where he was the global chief risk officer and chief executive of the Bank of Singapore DIFC since 2016.

A recognized thought leader in banking, Alexandre has over 20 years of banking experience in risk management across investment banks and private banks. He is known for evolving risk management practice from traditional financial risk frameworks toward integrated non-financial risk oversight. In a July 2024 interview, he noted that non-financial risks such as operational, business and conduct risks have since evolved and are a bigger part of today's private banking landscape, representing a fundamental shift in his risk management philosophy.

Before Bank of Singapore, Lotfi was with Barclays Wealth and Investment Management for more than six years – first three years as team head credit risk officer for key clients in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, based in London, and the next three years as head of credit risk for Asia-Pacific, based in Singapore. Earlier in his career, Lotfi was in Natixis Corporate & Investment Bank for over nine years in London and Paris.
