Brent Whitehead

Brent Whitehead is co-founder of Giga Energy, a Houston-based company founded in 2019 alongside college friend Matt Lohstroh. Whitehead attended Texas A&M University, where he received an Industrial Distribution degree. Both co-founders secured spots on Forbes' 30 Under 30 ranking in the energy category.

Whitehead and Lohstroh began by welding their first modular data centers while still Texas A&M students in 2019, driven by frustrations with fragmented energy supply chains. They identified slow equipment, ghost vendors, and finger-pointing as critical industry bottlenecks and chose to build their own solutions. Today, Giga Energy designs, builds, and operates data centers, including transformers, switchboards, and cooling solutions, and surpassed $150 million in 2025 revenue, up from $800,000 in 2021.

Giga is headquartered in Texas with manufacturing facilities in Houston and Long Beach, California, and operates 175 MW of flexible-load data-center sites online with 400+ MW in its 2026 pipeline. The company owns the design, engineering, and supply chain for all Giga infrastructure, differentiating itself through vertical integration and speed of delivery to AI, renewable energy, and industrial customers.
