Manu Kumar Jain

Manu Kumar Jain was appointed India CEO of G42, an Abu Dhabi-based artificial intelligence company, in October 2023. He holds a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and an MBA from IIM Calcutta.

Manu started his career as a Senior Associate at Headstrong from 2003 to 2005, where he developed software solutions for investment banks. He then joined McKinsey & Company as an Engagement Manager from 2007 to December 2011, before transitioning to entrepreneurship. In February 2012, he co-founded the fashion e-commerce portal Jabong and took up the role of Managing Director. By 2014, Jabong had become one of the two largest fashion e-commerce companies in India.

Jain joined Xiaomi in May 2014 as its India CEO and was appointed Global Vice President in 2017. Within three years, Xiaomi India became the No. 1 smartphone brand in the country without spending significant marketing money, and Jain launched Xiaomi's Make-in-India program in August 2015, which generated employment for over 60,000 people. He left Xiaomi in January 2023 after an almost nine-year stint.
