ISC West 2027 Takes the Security Industry Back to the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas

ISC West returns to the Venetian Expo in Las Vegas for a five day run in April, opening on the fifth and closing on the ninth. The year is 2027. The organiser describes the show as the place where physical and digital security converge, which is a fair summary of where the industry itself has ended up.

The event is run by RX, the exhibitions arm of RELX, and its education programme is delivered in partnership with the Security Industry Association. That pairing matters commercially, because the association also runs the New Products and Solutions Awards and the Women in Security Forum programme that sit inside the week, and those give the show a standards and policy dimension that a pure exhibition would not carry.

Why it matters this cycle

The security sector is in the middle of a structural merger. Access control, video surveillance and alarm monitoring were for a long time hardware businesses sold through integrators on refresh cycles measured in years. They are now cloud services with identity management attached, sold on subscription and judged against the same questions a chief information security officer asks of any other vendor. The practical effect is that the buyer has changed, and the integrator channel that grew up serving facilities managers now has to sell to information technology leadership as well.

That shift is the reason the show's programme has moved so far toward digital trust, identity and cybersecurity convergence in recent editions. For boards in the sector the week is where the consolidation conversations happen, and the trade has seen steady acquisition activity as hardware manufacturers buy software capability and software firms buy their way into installed bases.

For executives outside the industry, the signal worth reading is in the enterprise buying mood. Security budgets are discretionary at the margin, and the willingness of large corporate and government buyers to commit to multi-year platform contracts at the show is a reasonable proxy for how confident they feel about the capital cycle.

Registration, the conference catalogue and the exhibitor list are published by the organiser and are updated through the year ahead of the show.
