What Garret Doocey could bring to his current role at the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage: Doocey's extensive background managing complex national infrastructure programmes—including major transport projects spanning corporate, maritime, and public transport—positions him well to coordinate housing delivery across multiple government agencies. His role is cross-cutting in nature, charged with ensuring policy across the Department's remit is compatible with increasing housing supply and the objectives of Government. His demonstrated expertise in removing infrastructure bottlenecks and multi-stakeholder coordination could directly address the Housing Activation Office's mandate to unlock sites and accelerate housing development targets.
