Rafael Lopez Lorenzo

Rafael Lopez Lorenzo served as Chief Compliance Officer of Credit Suisse from October 2021 to October 2022, holding the position for just over one year before departing the bank. He joined Credit Suisse in 2015 from JP Morgan Chase, bringing a background in audit and banking. Prior to his appointment, Lorenzo headed Credit Suisse's group internal audit as chief audit executive for five years and also served as chief auditor of Technology, Operations, Data and Change.

At JPMorgan Chase, Lopez Lorenzo worked as a managing director and global audit head of the corporate and investment bank in New York. He also held roles in Investment Bank Operations, Technology and Change at JPMorgan in both New York and São Paulo. His appointment to the compliance role followed the departure of Lara Warner after the Archegos Capital Management and Greensill Capital scandals.

Lopez Lorenzo studied Business Administration and Management at the University of Huelva from 1994 to 1999. He was born in Huelva in 1975 and spent 23 years working internationally in banking and strategic consulting before transitioning to leadership roles in Spain. After departing Credit Suisse, Lopez Lorenzo became General Director of Huelva Comercio CDB Enrique Benítez in February 2023.
