Christopher Swift

Christopher Swift is executive chair designate of The Hartford Insurance Group, taking the role at the beginning of March 2027 after serving as chief executive officer of the Connecticut insurer for nearly thirteen years, including more than twelve years as chairman. He has said he intends to step down as executive chair in the second half of 2027.

Swift led The Hartford through a period in which the group narrowed its focus to property and casualty and group benefits and rebuilt its return on equity. On 30 September 2026 the board announced that company president A. Morris Tooker had been named to succeed him as chief executive.
