Platform94 (originally Galway Technology Centre) was founded in 1994. It is owned by Galway Chamber and WestBIC and supported by Enterprise Ireland. The state of the art Galway HQ is home to over 600 people, with 60 individual office units, virtual offices, a large co-working space, a media/podcast suite, numerous collaboration spaces and meeting rooms/facilities. The International Scaling Community consists of established technology companies throughout the West and North West of Ireland who are expanding overseas.
Platform94 provides a suite of scaling support services and programs including its pillar 'West - North West International Scaling Program'. Since inception it has supported over 300 companies, facilitated 3000 jobs and generated an estimated €1.3billion in value to the region. It is estimated that Platform94 will bring a Gross Added Value (GVA) of over €66.8 million to the regional economy in 2024.
In 2024 Platform94 opened a €5.2m extension bringing total space to 66,000 sqft, 11 times the original size. The building is already at 85 percent occupancy, with more than 600 people employed on site and an additional 100 positions currently open.
