Soha Nashaat

Overview

Soha Nashaat was appointed Executive Chair of EFG (Middle East) Limited in Dubai, effective May 1, 2025, in a newly created role. She brings over 30 years of experience in the wealth management industry in senior executive and non-executive roles with a focus on Middle Eastern markets. Nashaat will be based in Dubai, reporting directly to Patrick Ramsey, Head of the Continental Europe & Middle East Region at EFG, and will work closely with Ali Sandila, CEO of EFG Dubai.

Soha Nashaat has close to three decades of global financial services experience and is one of the most prominent businesswomen of her generation in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. In her role as Executive Chair, she will be responsible for ensuring that EFG Dubai maintains and further develops its strong strategic position to deliver sustained and profitable growth.

• Built and expanded Barclays Wealth footprint in the Middle East starting in 2006 as CEO for the MENA region
• Senior Advisor and Member of the Board of Directors of Barclays Bank Suisse S.A.
• Held various leadership positions at Merrill Lynch starting in 1990 in New York, including Head of Offshore Middle East (covering London, Geneva and Monte Carlo), Deputy Office Manager for Southern Cone operations in Buenos Aires, and roles in London

Soha Nashaat holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Columbia University. She was named Woman Banker of the year 2007, featured as a Leading Business Woman in the Arab World by the Financial Times in 2007 and 2008, named to Financial News top 100 women in Finance, and ranked 23rd among the 100 Most Powerful Arab Women in 2011 by Arabian Business. She serves on the Board of the Foundation for Renewable Energy & Environment and the International Committee for Barnard College, Columbia University, and is a member of the advisory board for the Beirut Institute.
