Michael Bächli

Michael Bächli was appointed Market Head NRI/NRP for the Middle East at UBS Wealth Management, effective October 9, 2025, reporting to Niels Zilkens, Head of Wealth Management Middle East. Bächli brings over 20 years of experience in Indian and non-resident Indian (NRI) wealth management, including 16 years in Dubai and seven years in Singapore.

Career history

• Bank J. Safra Sarasin: Led the Southeast Asia team with focus on Middle East and Asia markets
• Julius Baer: Spent 15 years developing the NRI business and holding senior roles including Group Head and Deputy Head for Global India and Developed Markets
• Credit Suisse: Early career experience in private banking

Bächli brings governance experience including board membership and participation in risk committees. He succeeds Promit Ghose, who will retire at year-end.
