Equinix has appointed DD Dasgupta as chief marketing officer, the digital infrastructure company announced on 10 September 2026. Dasgupta, who joined Equinix in 2024, was most recently vice president of product and solution marketing and reports to Shane Paladin, the company's chief customer and revenue officer. Equinix did not name a predecessor in the role.

In the new role, Dasgupta takes charge of marketing for the company as enterprises expand their use of artificial intelligence and rework the infrastructure that supports it. The promotion elevates a product and marketing leader who has been with Equinix for the past two years.

Before joining Equinix, Dasgupta led product management and product marketing for the data centre portfolio at Cisco, and was founding chief marketing officer at Avi Networks. Earlier roles spanned marketing, product management and software engineering at Juniper Networks, HP and Nortel Networks.

"DD has extensive background in infrastructure and networking at a time when customers are navigating the significant shifts needed for the era of AI inference," said Shane Paladin, chief customer and revenue officer at Equinix. "He deeply understands what enterprises need as they modernise their infrastructure and expand into AI, and how Equinix, as the neutral exchange they trust to run, connect, and orchestrate their digital business, is uniquely positioned to help them get there."

Dasgupta pointed to the pace of change in enterprise infrastructure. "As businesses are navigating the rapidly evolving infrastructure they need to meet the growing demands of AI, there has never been a more exciting time to be at the center of these innovations," Dasgupta said. "Enterprises are moving from AI pilots to full deployment, and interconnecting with more clouds, AI providers, partners and locations than ever before."

Equinix describes itself as the world's digital infrastructure company, operating data centres and providing connectivity, colocation and managed services to more than 10,000 customers. The company is headquartered in Redwood City, California, and is listed on Nasdaq under the ticker EQIX.

The appointment reflects the central place that marketing of infrastructure now holds as enterprises move artificial intelligence workloads from pilots into production. Dasgupta's background across networking and data centre products at Cisco and earlier technology firms covers several of the areas Equinix has identified as priorities as it serves customers building for AI.

The appointment continues a period of leadership change across the digital infrastructure sector as providers position themselves for demand tied to artificial intelligence. The promotion from within gives Equinix a marketing leader already familiar with the company’s products, its customers and its strategy.
