Ahmed Al Murad

Ahmed Al Murad became the first Kuwaiti national to lead HSBC in Kuwait, appointed as Chief Executive Officer in December 2025. He brings almost two decades of experience in financial services and 11 years of international banking experience with HSBC in leadership roles across corporate, institutional and commercial banking.

Al Murad holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Boston University's Questrom School of Business. His background includes financial analysis roles at Kipco and KAMCO Investment, and he served as a Treasury Trainee at NBK Group, establishing a foundation in financial operations and analysis before joining HSBC.

Prior to his CEO appointment, Al Murad led HSBC Kuwait's Global Banking team for two years before becoming Head of Wholesale Banking. He has held roles as Director (Country Head of FIG, Public Sector, & SWF Coverage) and served as Deputy Head of Global Banking & Commercial Banking, demonstrating consistent career progression within HSBC's wholesale banking operations.
