Jereme Sylvain, COO and CFO, DexCom

DexCom has expanded the remit of its chief financial officer, Jereme Sylvain, appointing him chief operating officer as well, the medical technology company disclosed in a regulatory filing dated 14 September 2026. Sylvain takes on the operational leadership of the business while retaining responsibility for its finances.

The dual mandate places one executive across both the financial and operational engines of a company best known for its continuous glucose monitoring systems for people with diabetes. Sylvain has served as chief financial officer of DexCom and has been closely involved in its financial planning, capital allocation and investor communications during a period of rapid growth and international expansion for the group. Adding the chief operating officer title gives him direct oversight of manufacturing, supply chain and commercial execution at a time when the company is scaling production and broadening access to its sensors.

Combining the finance and operations roles in one leader is a structure some growth companies adopt to tighten the link between financial discipline and day to day execution. For DexCom, which competes in a fast moving medical device market and must match manufacturing capacity to surging demand, the move is intended to speed decisions that cut across cost, capacity and commercial priorities.

DexCom sells continuous glucose monitoring technology that lets users and clinicians track glucose levels in real time, a category that has grown quickly as the devices have become smaller, more accurate and easier to use. The company has invested heavily in new sensor generations, in software and in expanding into new markets and new user groups beyond its original base. Running those operations efficiently while sustaining innovation is central to the company strategy.

For investors, consolidating operations under the chief financial officer signals a focus on execution and margin as the business grows. Sylvain financial background is intended to bring cost and capital scrutiny directly into operational decisions, while continuity in the finance seat avoids disruption to reporting and guidance. The company framed the change as an expansion of an existing leader responsibilities rather than an external hire.

DexCom is listed on the Nasdaq and is a constituent of the S&P 500. Sylvain takes up the combined chief operating officer and chief financial officer role with immediate effect.

The diabetes technology market has become one of the most closely watched corners of medical devices, with continuous glucose monitoring moving from a specialist tool toward broader use, including among people with type 2 diabetes and, increasingly, users focused on metabolic health. That expansion has drawn in competitors and put a premium on manufacturing scale, cost control and a steady cadence of product improvement. Placing operations and finance under a single experienced leader is intended to help DexCom convert that demand into durable, profitable growth while protecting the reliability its users depend on.
