Sommet de l'Élevage 2026 will be held at the Grande Halle d'Auvergne, Cournon-d'Auvergne, Clermont-Ferrand, from 6 to 9 October. The 2026 event is the 35th edition, according to the organiser's communications, and is run by the Sommet de l'Élevage organisation itself.
Billed as the world's leading sustainable livestock show, the Sommet is Europe's largest gathering of the livestock and agriculture industries. According to the organiser, it brings together 1,800 exhibitors, around 120,000 visitors from more than 100 countries and more than 160 conferences. The professional exhibition runs alongside breed championships, the Sommets d'Or innovation awards and a programme of international buyer delegations.
For agri-food, animal health and farm equipment executives, the four days in the Auvergne are the year's main point of contact with the French and European livestock sector. Chief executives of farm equipment makers, animal health companies and agri-food groups meet livestock producers and the international buyer delegations invited by the organiser, and the conference programme sets out where livestock policy, sustainability requirements and export markets are heading. Procurement heads at processors and retailers use the show to gauge supply conditions for the coming season, while the Sommets d'Or give a reading of where equipment and service innovation is concentrated.
