Macquarie Capital has appointed Melannie Pyzik as executive director and head of private capital markets for Australia and New Zealand, adding a senior infrastructure and real assets specialist to its Sydney based team.
The appointment was announced on 24 August 2026. Pyzik has commenced in the new role and is based in Sydney. She joins from CIM Group, where she was head of Asia Pacific, institutional client group, for nearly two years.
Joanne Spillane, Macquarie Capital's global head of private capital markets, announced the appointment publicly.
Pyzik brings 25 years of experience across investments, business development and investor relationships. Before CIM Group she was co-lead partner and head of investor solutions at Argo Infrastructure Partners between 2019 and 2024. Prior to that she spent five years as investment specialist for global infrastructure at QIC.
The appointment is also a return. Earlier in her career Pyzik spent close to a decade at Macquarie Group before joining Credit Suisse.
Spillane said she was delighted to welcome Pyzik back to Macquarie Capital as executive director, head of private capital markets for Australia and New Zealand, based in Sydney.
"Melannie brings significant global experience and deep expertise in infrastructure and real assets investing, alongside her warmth and energy, which will further strengthen our investor and client advisory relationships," Spillane said.
"Tim Joyce and I look forward to the positive impact she will make across our business, supporting our leading sector teams in ANZ."
Pyzik said she was looking forward to working alongside Spillane, and described the move as feeling less like a new chapter and more like coming home, given that she began her career at Macquarie.
"I'm excited to be back with the broader Macquarie Capital team and particularly looking forward to working with Jo Spillane, who leads the Private Capital group globally," she said.
The role sits within Macquarie Capital, the corporate advisory and investment arm of Macquarie Group. Private capital markets teams raise and structure capital from institutional and private investors for transactions executed outside public markets.
Pyzik's background is concentrated in that field. Her roles at Argo Infrastructure Partners and QIC were both centred on infrastructure investing, and her most recent position at CIM Group covered institutional clients across Asia Pacific.
The appointment gives Macquarie Capital a regional lead for private capital markets with experience on both sides of the investor relationship. Pyzik has worked as an investor facing specialist raising and servicing institutional capital, and her infrastructure and real assets focus aligns with the sectors named by Spillane in announcing the appointment.
