The International Finance Corporation, known as IFC, is the member of the World Bank Group focused exclusively on the private sector in developing countries. Founded on 20 July 1956 and headquartered in Washington, D.C., it provides loans, equity investment, trade finance and advisory services, and lends to private enterprises without requiring government guarantees.
